Common questions
Who organizes this event?
The Crossing is the yearly in-person event for The Center for World Philosophy and Religion. The Center is an international NGO, a think tank of philosophers, thought leaders and affiliates. It was co-founded by Dr. Marc Gafni and Ken Wilber, and now, Dr. Marc Gafni serves as co-president with Dr. Zak Stein.
At the heart of the Center is the articulation of the new world Philosophy and world Religion which can serve as a context for our diversity. This new Philosophy (or new Story of Value) embraces the best of religious traditions as well as the best insights of modern science. This creates a shared, validated ground that will allow for a shared language which is rooted in the insights across the disciplines of interior and exterior sciences.
The Crossing is the only major public live event of the Center and the exceptional possibility to participate live in the leading edge of evolving culture.
The aim is the great reconstructive project of a thriving humanity. See more at About Us.
Do I need any background or prior study?
No, not necessarily, although there is lots of free content you are invited to dive into if you are keen to get prepared. But many first time participants who have never heard a single piece of our content before are blown away by the experience.
What are the embodiment practices?
The embodiment practice is led by Dr. Kristina Kincaid, who is an experienced healer and body practitioner. The sessions help to crack the armor which sits in our bodies and holds the old suppressive behavioral patterns and beliefs in place. To cross over from Homo armor, the armored human, to Homo amor, the new human who is “lived as love” needs to be made real in the body.
All embodiment sessions are voluntary and fully dressed.
Who comes, what kind of people?
There are people from all walks of life (students, parents, academics, entrepreneurs, crafts people, business people, artists, musicians…) Anyone who resonates with the call and feels drawn to this is welcome.
Do I need to be spiritual?
No. There are many doors through which you can enter; science is as good a door as social activism or any religion. We used to call it “One mountain”, the mountain with many paths leading up to the summit where all paths meet which is the heart of existence itself.
Can I come on my own?
Yes. You will find an open, welcoming atmosphere and inviting people who are willing and excited to meet others from all around the globe. Everyone is welcome and included.
Is there an age requirement?
No, all ages are welcome, and we pride ourselves on being a multigenerational atmosphere. The age range reaches from early 20’s into late 80’s.
What language is the event in?
All the programs will be in English (no live translation).
For personal assistance: The organizers speak Dutch and German.
Where will I stay?
At the magnificent Castle de Berckt, a spectacular big castle which has been renovated into a retreat and event location. There are 3 room categories (single, double, multi-person room) and a camping option. The rooms are simple and affordable.
In the price are all meals and coffee/tea/water included.
Where can I learn more before I decide?
Check out our website www.whowemustbecome.com, our free content on YouTube and Substack, or our weekly (free) broadcast on Sundays with Dr. Marc Gafni. You are always welcome to reach out to Jane and Dorothea, the organizers, personally for a call. Email us at crossing.mysteryschool@gmail.com.
Is the content new each year?
Yes. The content is new every year and centered around a different facet of the new Story of Value (the new philosophy). Since it is all pointing towards that new Story, the core teaching will be laid out each year from a different angle. This makes it easy for a newcomer to orient and locate themselves while people who are regular attendants will experience a deepening of their understanding. This year’s topic is framed: “Eros and Existential Risk”.
What is the payment and refund policy?
Refund policy details can be found on our refund policy section on our checkout page.
