Eros and Existential Risk

Eros is the experience of radical aliveness—moving toward, seeking, desiring ever deeper contact and ever greater wholeness. With Eros we culturally associate sex, but Eros is far more than that. Eros is what drives reality and evolution itself. There were twelve billion years of Eros before sex existed in the universe.

Today, we live in a time between worlds and a time between stories, in other words, we live in a time of unprecedented crisis, at a crossroad of history.

Yet, crisis is not only a threat but an evolutionary driver. It presses us into finding a new answer to the question of “Who are we?”

If we allow the pain of the world not to numb us but to arouse our desire and will and our radical yes for a different future, our crisis will not be breakdown but breakthrough—a birth.
